Following are some helpful tips to help you get the most out of your Dressage Riding Clothes investment. Feel free to comment on this post and add your own care tips!
BREECHES
Full seat leather breeches must be machine or hand-washed at cold temperature
using a mild detergent specially designed for the care of soft leather. Please do not
tumble dry breeches or iron under any circumstances. Allow to drip-dry and
do not expose to full sunlight or direct heat. DO NOT DRY CLEAN
LAUNDERING TIPS
1. Always turn your breeches inside out prior to washing.
Helps with fading.
2. The first time you wash your breeches use 1 teaspoon of white vineger in the
wash cycle. This will help set the dye in the leather.
3. AFTER WASHING REMOVE BREECHES PROMPTLY FROM WASHER.
Reduces the risk of the leather bleeding onto the fabric. This is especially important
with dark leather.
4. After washing roll clean breeches in a towel to remove excess water. This will
decrease drying time which helps keep the leather from getting dry and hard.
5. If the leather in your breeches has hardened use a leather conditioner made for
washing of leather apparel.
6. Use Scotch Gaurd on you white show breeches (excluding the seat). This will
help keep them clean longer. Scotch Gaurd can also be used on your show jacket,
breeches, top hat. Use Castile soap to spot wash white breeches.
SHOW JACKETS
All wool and wool/mix jackets should be dry-cleaned only. Jackets made in synthetic
may be machine or hand-washed at a cold temperature using a mild detergent.
Please do not tumble dry. Reshape jacket on hanger with buttons closed and allow
to drip dry. (If ironing is required, use clean barrier cloth laid on top of material to
protect fabric surface and use low heat only). Please do not expose to sunlight or
direct heat.
SHOW PADS
Follow manufactuers washing instructions. Use Castile soap to spot wash.

Sho Clothes Introduces Logo Jewelry Collection inspired by Grand Prix Dressage Horse, Wonderful Walden
Wellington, Fl- Sho Clothes, Wellington’s exclusive dressage boutique introduced an exciting new line of equestrian jewelry inspired by the well known FEI horse, Wonderful Walden. Walden is owned by Sho Clothes partner, Betsy Rebar Sell and has been her FEI partner for more than a decade. Highlights of their illustrious career include a Gold Medal at the 1999 Pan Am Games and a top finish in Grand Prix this summer at the 2007 USEF Festival Of Champions at Gladstone.
“Walden always puts his all in his performances and continues to have a happy attitude about training and showing”, Rebar Sell explains. “ He is a shining example of a talented dressage horse who continues to enjoy his work”.
Sho Clothes co-owner, Michelle Hundt has been inspired by Walden and has followed his career closely. Hundt, also a dressage rider, was a member of the ground crew when Walden and Rebar Sell won the Pan Am Gold Medal. Hundt, who is also an artist, designed the Sho Clothes logo in the likeness of Wonderful Walden.
“I have had several customers ask me about the logo over the years”, said Hundt, “So the logo jewelry line was a natural extension”. The logo pendants are available in sterling silver or 18 karat gold. The logo jewelry will be officially debuted at the Gold Coast Dressage Fall Filing in November for the holiday season and will be available at the Sho Clothes boutique throughout the 2008 season.
Sho Clothes has been serving the dressage community since 2001. The store’s mobile boutique is a fixture at the Wellington area dressage shows. For information visit www.shoclothes.com or call the mobile boutique at 561-319-2121.
